After having made you discover 3 beautiful bike tours around La Trinité sur mer and Quiberon, the most beautiful beaches of the wild coast, the Lodge Kerisper team recommends 5 remarkable outings in southern Finistère at 1h30 maximum from our hotel: Quimper, Sainte-Marine Combrit, Concarneau, Riec-sur Belon, ...
Quimper, capital of Cornouaille
1 hour from the Lodge Kerisper hotel by car and 58 minutes by train from Auray station, Quimper is a must for the quality of its architectural heritage, its Gothic Saint-Corentin cathedral, its lively medieval streets with their houses half-timbered but also its museums, the Locmaria district and its famous Henriot-Quimper earthenware factory. The capital of Cornouaille, located at the crossroads of Steir and Odet, is a city of art and history to discover!
At noon, take a break at the Frugy crêperie, one of the best crêperies in Quimper!
Sainte-Marine Combrit, a small port out of time!
About fifteen kilometers south of Quimper, make a stopover in Pays Bigouden at Sainte-Marine Combrit, a charming little village and fishing and marina port, located on the right bank of the Odet, opposite Bénodet, located on the other side. Nestled between sea and estuary, between rocky coves and clumps of pines, Sainte-Marine Combrit will charm you.
At noon, take a lunch break at the Michelin-starred restaurant "Les trois Rochers" by chef Frédéric Claquin (reopening on May 13)
The port of Doëlan, a unique site
56 minutes from Lodge Kerisper, the port of Doëlan is a small authentic and typical port, nestled in a narrow and deep estuary. It is guarded by two lighthouses, one green and one red, which are easy to spot. You can walk along the port but also taste fresh fish bought in the port!
From Doëlan, a path will take you between sand and rocks to Pouldu. Located in the estuary of the Laïta estuary, Le Pouldu with its port will allow you to witness the tidal shift facing the dunes of Morbihan.
Riec to taste "La Belon"
Capital of the famous flat oyster with a nutty flavor, Riec sur Belon with its port is an essential stopover to taste "Belon" facing the sea, 53 minutes from Lodge Kerisper!
The spat come from different basins (Quiberon bay) where the oyster develops for three years. They are then refined in the Belon estuary which gave it its name. The oyster beds are visible at low tide.
Concarneau, a jewel not to be missed!
Just over an hour from Lodge Kerisper, it is difficult to miss Concarneau, a closed town. Fortified city, modified by Vauban, Concarneau indeed offers from its ramparts a beautiful panorama of the port and the bay, one of the most beautiful in Brittany with its fishing port and its beaches.
